Dr. Farnell attended medical school at McMaster University where he also completed his residency in Anatomical Pathology. His research interests include proteomic applications which contribute to patient diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment, as well as the application of new technologies in healthcare and medical research. Dr. Farnell is currently completing a post-doctoral research fellowship under the supervision of Dr. David Huntsman at the British Columbia Cancer Agency Research Centre.

Dr. Sebastiao Martins completed his residency training in Anatomical Pathology at the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil). He then enrolled the Pathology PhD program at that Institution and developed a collaborative research initiative with the Division of Liver Disease at Mount Sinai Hospital (New York), where he later joined at as postdoc. In October 2017, Dr. Martins joined the Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology Department at the University of Toronto as a Molecular-Oncologic Pathology Fellow. Under the supervision of Dr. Ming-Sound Tsao, he is investigating associations between specific genomic alterations and histopathological findings in lung cancer.
