Program Promotion

The Program promotion at the 57th Annual CAP Conference

The CIHR Training Program for Molecular Oncology of Cancer was widely promoted during the 57th Annual CAP Conference at St. John’s in Newfoundland. Our promotional activities were geared to appeal to pathology residents and senior pathology staff addressing the need to undertake training in academic career in pathology, a competitive field in a near future. The event included an exclusive by invitation lunch to pathology residents held Sunday, July 16th. Booth exhibit took place on Monday, July 17th and Tuesday, July 18th, 2006.  A collection of trainees’ posters from both training centres; the Ontario Cancer Institute – Princess Margaret Hospital and BC Cancer Agency were displayed. Handouts were distributed to faculty members and residents for promoting the program in their institutes.

The integral part of the CAP’s agenda had included the residents’ symposium given by Dr. David Huntsman on “Research during the residency and its influence on future career in pathology”.
